Bing has put together a fascinating history that by one metric marks this year's most important people, events and celebrity stars. The search engine company rom billions of search queries to form the "most searched of 2011" people, news stories, sports stars, musicians, consumer electronics, TV shows, movies and celebrity events.

Below are some of the most interesting finds from the Bing 2011 searches. While some results are unsurprising -- yes, Justin Bieber is the most searched musician -- others are wildly unexpected, like Casey Anthony's trial beating out Osama Bin Laden's death for hottest news story this year.

More proof that Americans are a celebrity-obsessed culture: the Casey Anthony trial beat out Osama Bin Laden's death as the most searched news story of 2011 on Bing.

With a full month left in 2011, Microsoft's Bing released its annual top searches of the year list. As ever, it illustrates how much Americans can't get enough of the our celebs.

Some might take solace in the fact that Kim Kardashian dropped from No. 1 in 2010 to No. 2 in 2011 as the most searched person on Bing. Then again, her replacement at the top of the list: Justin Bieber. He was the only male in the top 10 on the list. The other eight, in order, are Jennifer Aniston, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Megan Fox, Lady Gaga, and Miley Cyrus.

When it comes to searching for news stories, the trends are no different. That top 10 list included the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, which landed at No. 4, as well as the Republican presidential campaign, which came in at No. 9. But Amy Winehouse's death, No. 5, and the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray, No. 7, beat out the Arab Spring uprising and the Occupy Wall Street movements, neither of which made the news search top 10 tally.

When it comes to sports stars, it's not the ones who've overcome obstacles or achieved great feats in 2011 that drove Web traffic. A key trigger for Bing searchers in the sporting world seemed to be good looks and bad choices. Tennis beauty Maria Sharapova, the fourth-ranked woman in the world, was the top sports figure on Bing. She was followed by disgraced golfer Tiger Woods. The 12th-ranked women's tennis player, Serena Williams landed No. 3, and the sometimes retired National Football League quarterback Brett Favre took the No. 4 spot.

One other surprise: "Xbox" was the most searched consumer electronic item. While the Microsoft video game console is certainly an extremely popular device, it beat out Apple's iPad, which just landed the top spot on Consumer Reports' most likely gift purchases this holiday season. In fact, the popular iPad trailed Amazon's Kindle and Sony's Playstation among Bing searchers.

Turns out the folks at Bing chose to separate searches for "iPad" and "iPad 2" in compiling the data. Those searches landed at No. 5 and No. 7, respectively, on the list. In a statement, Microsoft acknowledged that it, nevertheless, did group searches for "Xbox" and "Xbox 360" together in compiling its data.

"Xbox and Xbox 360 were combined, as were other brand terms (such as Playstation and PS3), to help us package the massive amount of search data," the company said. "iPad and iPad 2 appear separately because both models were available for sale this calendar year."

It's no secret that the world caught Bieber fever in 2011. Teen pop star Justin Bieber was the most searched person of the year on Bing.com, knocking out Kim Kardashian for the coveted top spot.

Search engine Bing announced on Monday its "most searched" lists for 2011, which includes celebrities, tech products, TV shows and news stories.

Kim Kardashian didn't fall too far behind Bieber. Kardashian dropped to second place, still ahead of Jennifer Aniston (third) and Lindsay Lohan (fourth). Jennifer Lopez soared to the fifth-most searched person this year after not even making the top 50 in 2010.

The Middleton sisters (of Royal Wedding fame) also received a lot of search attention in 2011, thanks to Kate Middleton's marriage to Prince William in April — Kate came in at number 12, Pippa at 21. Although the royal wedding was the most-searched celebrity event of the year, Prince William didn't even make the top 100 list. President Barack Obama also took a hit, placing 49th on the list, down from fifth place in 2010.

The high-profile trial of Casey Anthony was the top searched news story of the year, followed by the death of Osama bin Laden, Hurricane Irene, the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and the death of musician Amy Winehouse, respectively.

Tech gadgets also brought in a lot of searches this year. Microsoft's Xbox was the most searched consumer electronics product of the year. Speculations about the iPhone 5 came in fourth.

Surprisingly, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol edged The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part One for the most searched movie in 2011. The Jersey Shore was the third most popular reality TV show, ranking behind American Idol (one) and Dancing with the Stars (two). Snooki was the most searched cast member of the Jersey Shore, receiving twice as many searches as the runner-up J-Woww and six times as many as DJ Pauly D.

The most searched viral video of the year was "Friday" by Rebecca Black.

Would you have ranked anyone higher? Any conspicuous omissions? Let us know in the comments.

Did Bieber fever get the best of you this year? Join the club. The YouTube sensation and current cause of adolescent ague was the most searched person of 2011 on Microsoft's Bing search engine.

Bieber beat out 2010 Bing champion Kim Kardashian for the top spot. But don't feel bad for the soon-to-be-divorced reality star; Kim still nabbed the number two position and was the most searched female of the year on Bing.

President Barack Obama, however, barely cracked the top 50 — the man at the top plummeted to the bottom and placed 49th on the list of most searched people. Last year, Obama dominated the leader board in the fifth position, but this year he fell well behind the likes of Jennifer Aniston (third), Lindsay Lohan (fourth), Jennifer Lopez (fifth) and Britney Spears (sixth), in terms of cultural relevance as defined by search queries.

Even Selena Gomez, girlfriend to the search-almighty Biebs and newfound tech investor, bested the president and secured the 11th spot on the list. What that says about our society or means for Obama's odds at reelection are yours to unravel.

Bing aggregated billions of search queries to also uncover the most searched news stories, sports stars, musicians, consumer electronics, TV shows, movies, celebrity events and destinations of 2011.

On the consumer electronics side of things, Microsoft's Xbox reigned supreme — which is not exactly a shocker considering that Bing is a Microsoft property and that Kinect was a big hit with gamers. Amazon's Kindle took second place, Sony's Playstation nabbed third, the iPhone 5 — that chimeric phone that may one day come into existence — was fourth and Apple's iPad came in as the fifth most searched consumer electronics device of the year.

The Casey Anthony Trial, somewhat surprisingly, trumped Osama Bin Laden's death as the most searched news story of the year, and Tiger Woods was still the second most searched for sports star (Maria Sharapova ranked first) of the year. Continuing on with pop culture phenomena, the royal wedding topped Bing's most searched celebrity events list, while Kim Karadashian's extravagant (but ill-fated) wedding came in third for the year.

Of course, Bing only accounts for roughly 15 percent share of the U.S. market, so the search engine's 2011 analysis only partially reflects the nation's predilection for Justin Bieber.

Kourtney Kardashian appeared on E! before her sister Kim Kardashian ever did -- and her costars were a bunch of cows.

Kourt shocked fans of Kourtney and Kim Take New York by getting an oil enema on the show (she was trying to flush toxins from her body), but before she was having the filth removed from her body in such a disgusting way, she was starring on E!'s reality series Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive.

While Kim Kardashian's sex tape might have helped her family's reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians take off, Kourtney's appearance on the 2005 reality series might have helped her family form a relationship with E! that would prove to be very lucrative.

Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive was obviously trying to duplicate the success of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's show The Simple Life, because it focused on spoiled rich kids actually having to work for once in their lives.

Jessica Simpson's father Joe Simpson was one of the producers for the show that featured Kourtney Kardashian and nine other celebrity kids, including Kim Kardashian's ex-BFF Brittny Gastineau, who had to work together on a cattle drive to try and get the animals to a parade. The kids were divided into two groups of five that competed by completing tasks like helping to deliver a baby calf, and of course they also had to learn how to rough it by riding horses and sleeping and eating on the trail. You can catch a quick glimpse of Kourtney Kardashian looking miserable in the clip below.

It's actually kind of funny that Kourt once tried to find fame by stepping outside of her world - now she and her sisters get paid to get to look pretty, get spa treatments, and shop on Kourtney and Kim Take New York and all their other shows. However, do you think they need another wakeup call in the form of a show like Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive? Should these spoiled celebs entertain their fans by trying their hand at a dirty job? Or would they even consider doing something like that now that they get paid to be pampered princesses? Sound off in the comments!

Who has just one wedding dress anymore? It's just bad form! When I get married, I'm definitely going to opt for three different glitter tuxedos just so I can fit in with my two favorite girls -- Kim Zolciak and Kim Kardashian.

We all know about Kardashian's three custom Vera Wang gowns (each allegedly costing around $20,000), but now the details on Zolciak's outfit changes are here. And trust me, you want to know.

Aside from the USED handmade Baracci wedding dress which was estimated at $58,000 (Lord have mercy...), she also wore an $18,000 mermaid gown decked out in pearls and Swarovski crystals. This past weekend, she tweeted a picture of her third look: a $16,000 jumpsuit (see above), designed by Pnina Tornai, who you may know from your nights watching Say Yes to the Dress while chilling with a pint of Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby.

Okay, so that's $92,000. Yes. I just checked on a calculator to make sure of this figure. I don't think I need to tell you what else you can buy with this type of dough, but needless to say, I would be sleeping on a bed made of Birkins.

Take a look at the gallery above and vote below for which reality star's triple threat wedding gown collection you liked more. Oh, and if you read this all the way through, I can tell you some very fun info which I recently found out: Miss Sheree Whitfield was one of Zolciak's bridesmaids (!!!). No word on whether or not any other Real Housewives of Atlanta were involved in the big day, but all I'm thinking about now is the time Sheree tried to pull Kim's wig off.
