AMERICAN tennis's Ashley Harkleroad has never set the court on fire, but she now has a first for a female player - a Playboy cover shoot.
Harkleroad has the tennis world talking, after her raunchy eight-page nude spread for the magazine was released in the US this week.
The player, ranked 72 in the world, said she wanted to do the shoot to show athletic women could be sexy.
Her boyfriend, fellow US player Chuck Adams, loved it and even helped her negotiate a deal with the magazine.
"For me, I have a very natural body," Harkleroad said. "I'm an athlete who is fit and not very big-busted at all.
"I'm proud of that. I wanted to show that female athletes, who are fit and muscular, can have very beautiful bodies just like regular models."
Harkleroad is a regular visitor to the Australian Open but often gets more attention as one of the glamour girls of the WTA Tour, not for her results.
