John Paul Jones Confirms Led Zeppelin Tour Without Robert Plant

John Paul Jones has confirmed that he, Jimmy Page, and Jason Bonham will hit the road with another vocalist replacing Robert Plant. Rolling Stone reported that Jones appeared last weekend in Britain at a Manson's Guitar Show and said that Led Zeppelin's backline is planning an upcoming road trek with a yet-to-be named vocalist stepping in for Plant. He told the press, "As soon as we know who it is, we'll let you know who it is." Jones didn't say when the tour would begin.

Among the vocalists rumored to have been rehearsing with the band are Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy and, most recently, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. There has been no word as to whether Page, Jones, and Bonham will bill themselves as Led Zeppelin.

Robert Plant has been the lone holdout on signing on for a Zep reunion since their one-off reunion show last December in London. Following the recent wrap-up of his tour with Alison Krauss, Plant said that he would be holding off from any live performances for "a couple of years."
