Ashley Todd Hoax McCain volunteer lied about attack, faces charges

Police charged McCain's campaign volunteer Ashley Todd for filing a false report after officials found she was lying by saying a black man robbed her at an ATM, knocked her down and cut a letter "B" in her face, CBS' KDKA reported.
Officials said at a press conference on Friday they believe Todd injuries were self-inflicted. A Pittsburg police commander declared that Todd confessed to "making up the story," the source says today.
Investigators also reviewed photos from the ATM and verified as "not being the victim making the transaction," according to the report. 20-year old Todd had said she was attacked on Wednesday night telling police a black man approached her while she was withdrawing money from an ATM. He put a knife on her throat and she gave him $60 but he became upset after seeing a McCain Campaign sticker on her car. Then the man knocked her down and cut a letter "B" on her cheek.
The letter "B" appears reads on reverse, as photos online show. The images however are not from the police.
Police applied a lie-detector test on the woman on Thursday.
